OpenBSD on Lenovo Ideapad
October 2022
Exploring FuguIta and configuring Fluxbox has been a success. Since I can now connect to the internet using a usb wifi adaptor and have a new working ssd drive, I decided to install OpenBSD for real. The first try at install failed on reboot with a "Could not find a bootable device" message. The thumb drive I used has no led to indicate read/write activity so my guess is that when told to reboot I pulled the drive while it was still writing to the disk. On the second install the wifi adaptor was not recognized so I aborted. I pulled the wifi adaptor and reinserted it for a third try. Everything went fine and I booted into my new OpenBSD install.
Now, which window manager? I think I will try out cwm, the Calm Window Manager, developed by the OpenBSD developers. It is mostly keyboard driven so I will have some adjustments to make.
